GLASS HIGHLIGHTS

Subject to availability*

2022 Pivnica Čajkov ‘Rustical’ Pesecká Leánka

Extremely rare insight into a small and unique corner of Slovak viticulture. Pesecká Leánka is the Slovak name for Feteasca Regala, more commonly found in Romania today, but with a history of dispersal that includes this part of Slovakia. Skin contact, generous fruit and exotic aromas, delicious, fun, and found only here in Čajkov.

2017 Puchang Vineyard Saperavi

Saperavi is best known for its iterations in Georgia, where it likely originates. The Silk Road dispersed grapes from the Caucasus throughout Central Asia. Xinjiang is certainly a region that fits more neatly into the cultural fabric of Central Asia than it does China. For that reason alone, tasting this wine conjures strong notions of nationhood, cultural identity, and the long and prevailing influence of history on viticulture.
