Rātā is a celebration of the South Island, shaped by the landscapes, producers and people of Central Otago and wider Southern New Zealand. Our approach is grounded in genuine hospitality, with a wine experience that is curious, generous and deeply connected to our sense of place.

Rātā offers around 25 wines by the glass, showcasing the very best of New Zealand — from celebrated producers and iconic names to smaller, lesser-known wineries and hidden gems reflecting the diversity of our wine regions. A selection of international varietals are also poured which compliment the New Zealand produce which is the cornerstone of our menu.

Felton Road is one of the most renowned producers from here in Central Otago but its limited releases mean its rarely seen on many restaurant lists or offered by the glass. We are very privileged to be able to feature this by the glass, and its one of our favourites to drink too of course!

Claire has been part of Rātā since day one, initially leading the floor as Restaurant Manager. Over the years, she has shaped the evolution of our wine list and built strong relationships with New Zealand’s winemakers and suppliers. Now focused on our wine programme, Claire also contributes to the wider NZ wine industry, bringing her knowledge and passion back to Rātā.
