Pompa

Rating 1

EXCELLENT: Over 20 wines by-the-glass

Experience: Relaxed & Social

Specialist in: Champagne | Chardonnay | Sherry | Spain

The one that wanted to be a "bar à vins," but ended up being a restaurant. Pompa is the little brother of Berbena that knew how to harmonize root cuisine and wine. Open kitchen, central table, a large wine display, and a vinyl player create a cozy place where the customer feels like they are in someone's living room who has invited them. Nora, our little dog, welcomes all the customers.

Up to 40 wines available by the glass, with outside lists that enhance the tasting offer. Pompa also serves half bottles designed to be shared among different tables, providing a broader experience.
Everything is complemented with fine Zalto and Gabriel Glass crystalware, hand-blown artisanally as the default service glass.

GLASS HIGHLIGHTS

Subject to availability*

Camí dels Xops 2022, by Anima Mundi

Agustinet Torelló produces an ancestral sparkling wine that is precise and clean, a breath of fresh air for the Penedès. Chalky, crisp, lively, and with a complex yet restrained aroma, this pét-nat is elegant and refreshing to start any dinner at Pompa.

Suañé Blanco Reserva 2020, by Alonso&Pedrajo

Pompa's favorite wine: complexity, depth, a touch of oxidation,... a ticket to a bolder style of Rioja.
Alonso&Pedrajo is a winery that covers a wide range of styles – rosé, reserva red, with skins, in amphora,... – and for us, the white Suañé expresses its peak as a winemaker.

April 2014, by Vega Aixalà

Taken from the bottom of the cellar, Viern from 2014 is a Bordeaux-style wine with grapes also typical of Catalonia - grenache, carignan, and on the other hand, cabernet sauvignon and merlot - made by Eva at a time when she was beginning to decide to stop working with barrels. Viern is a refined vestige of more structured wines that can be made in Conca de Barberà if conditions are right and the wine is accompanied by a good barrel.

MEET THE WINE EXPERTS

Sebastian Arbenoiz, Victor Bertrand, Alice Gasenge and Carles

Sebastian - WSET Level 3 in training - and Carles efficiently manage a tiny room where, from the refrigerator, with its strong presence, they can offer customers a wide variety of styles and regions from the world of wine. From Berbena, Victor and Alice help curate the selection that both restaurants share.
