We are an intimate, candlelit wine bar with a curated wine list, cheese plates & walls with rotating local artwork. Here at Hôtel Biron, we have events that help build and support our community and wine makers.

Hôtel Biron has been open for 24 years tucked away on an alley in San Francisco. We offer 20-25 wines by the glass. If you follow us on Instagram, we do a password that allows you access to wines from our exclusive Coravin list.

Maior de Mendoza Oceánico Albariño

A beautiful Spanish white from Rias Baixas. This wine give notes of green pear, lemon, and saline, which is perfect for the San Francisco summer.

Wachira "The Buffalo" Chardonnay

Our current featured wine. Dr. Chris from Wachira brings us a California wine with a Kenyan accent. Notes of green apple, peach, and butterscotch.

Pine Ridge Vineyards Cabernet Sauvignon

A Classic Napa Cab. The Pine Ridge Cabernet Sauvignon is great with dinner or on its own. Notes of strawberry, cranberry, and baked shortbread.

MEET THE WINE EXPERTS

Ron Ramsubhag, PhD

After teaching organic chemistry at Harvard, Ron moved to SF to pursue cancer research. He fell in love with wine and used his knowledge in chemistry to understand the science in winemaking. He worked part-time to build up his palate at a wine bar, so he can understand the art of wine. After saving his favorite bar in SF, he is following his dream in making wine in respect to his late mentor.
