Flour + Water is an Italian-inspired restaurant in SF’s Mission District serving hand-crafted pastas and seasonal fare rooted in Northern California ingredients. The legendary wines of Paolo Bea have long been a cornerstone of our program at Flour + Water. Hailing from the mountainous Montefalco region of Umbria, these bold reds are complex, spiced, and powerful, with just the right amount of age. We pour this special selection using our Coravin Pivot.

Lebeau-Batiste, Chardonnay Blend, 'Tradition', Champagne, France NV

We adore Champagne, but if it lacks anything, it’s affordability. Enter the thoughtful family estate of Lebeau-Batiste. This Chardonnay-dominant blend delivers textbook Champagne character, bright acidity, chalky minerality, and a gentle dosage that brings perfect balance. It’s been our go-to “house” Champagne for years, offering incredible value by the glass.

Hammerling, Sparkling Red, 'Big Night', California '24

One of our many collaborative wines, Big Night is made exclusively for the Flour + Water Hospitality Group by Berkeley based Hammerling Wines. It’s our domestic take on Italy’s beloved sparkling red, Lambrusco. Produced using the méthode champenoise, this red blend channels the frizzante style with a lighter effervescence and elevated craftsmanship. Bone dry, with dark brambly fruit, peppery herbs, and a savory edge, it’s absolutely perfect with a bowl of pasta or a Margherita pizza.

He champions character-driven, minimal intervention wines from tiny, independent producers.
